4. Outside of the Downtown area of Bellevue sits this beautiful location. The atmosphere of the place is spectacular and gives a different feeling then most of the other rec. shops in the area. The budtenders were warm and friendly, giving a relaxed, but professional attitude to the place. The menu was a little short, but i could’ve just gone on a day where inventory was low. If you’ve been to the other Bellevue shops, then you definitely need to try out this A-Typical location.

10. Every time I come in I leave very happy. Went in with a set budget looking for a specific quantity. While talking to the bud tender I was informed that I could double my quantity for the same price. With my method of consumption I do not need monster nugs, I have to grind them anyway, so going the route of littles was awesome. It definitely is GREEN too. None of that outdoor red Bud with seeds. Definitely sensi. Top notch and my hat’s off to The Novel Tree and their bid tenders. Always a pleasant experience.

24. I’m from Bellingham. I’ve come the Novel Tree twice on two different occasions. On the first occasion, I don’t remember the person’s name, but they were very disinterested in selling me, anything really. First thing he asked me was “What do you want?” And I told him I was looking for a Sativa dominant hybrid, and I asked for Pearl Scout Cookies from Fireline. He rang me up, handed it to me, and simply said “Bye,” before walking away. The second time I came in was more recently. Different person helped me this time. I walked up to the counter, told the person I was looking for a Sativa dom hybrid. He gave some good recommendations, until I finally decided to go with Starwberry Banana (as it was also recommended to me by a friend). However, I later discovered that Starwberry Banana is an Indica dom hybrid.

29. Quality, location and price – the trifecta. I found this store through Leafly, searching for a shop that was convienently located, carried the strains I was interested in at a reasonable price. I was super stoked to find the Novel Tree!

    I was greeted by a professional at the door and my experience from that point on was top notch.

    Honestly, this was my first recreational purchase in a shop, and I see no reason to go anywhere else.

34. I’ve been checking out a variety of recreational stores in the area. Novel Tree wasn’t my first, but it remains my favorite. Prices are fair, glass is beautiful, a ton of strain information is provided, specials are good, and budtenders are friendly and knowledgeable.

35. Good prices, very nice employees, menu lacks updates. This place has a great setup and menu system. I just wish their Leafly and store menu were up-to-date. They have been out of the bho I came for twice, even though it was listed online and in-store. The “meet the vendor” events are actually really cool and there’s usually a good special. I just wish they didn’t have “happy hour” and just had the special all day. Parking’s a nightmare during this happy hour. Best service on the Eastside, especially the doorman.

42. What an incredibly different atmosphere from other shops! Beautiful hostess/greeter at the door relaxes/welcomes you from the get-go, instead of the burly grunge bouncers elsewhere. Fabulous menu with the fairest prices/packaging I’ve encountered yet. No waiting, easy to find Bellevue location, meditative/extremely clean interior, relaxed and knowledgeable owner/staff. Right on with their LEAFLY menu. Have specific expectations from ‘strains:” ‘creative, energetic, relaxed, happy, talkative.” Have been enjoying Green Crack the last few months, but the Permafrost I purchased here is certainly a good plus % above. 43. I’ve been to several shops in Tacoma, Seattle and the Eastside and these guys are my favorite by far. Great service and selection and the price seems lower than most others. There’s a shop open closer to my house now but I still always go here.

45. After waiting over thirty years to try marijuana, both my wife and I decided that as we live in a legal state, we should finally give it a try.

    One of my main interests in using cannabis was for my chronic pain and anxiety, which I thought might be aided by the use of CBD strains, and The Novel Tree is one dispensary that seems to consistently carry them.

    My wife and I were extremely apprehensive about our first time going to a shop, but all of that melted away from the firs minute we walked into the shop.

    The Novel Tree is a beautiful store, thoughtfully arranged, and staffed by very friendly, kind people who made us feel welcome, which was very much appreciated by us as first time buyers.

    I particularly enjoy the fact that this felt like a store where older consumers wouldn’t feel out of place. It felt comfortable and professional and not like walking into a college dorm room.

    We’ve been twice now, and this shop is already at the top of our list even though we have several in walking distance from us in Seattle.

    It was an amazing experience and I recommend it highly for everyone, but especially older first timers who are nervous about visiting a shop for the first time.

46. As one would expect in Bellevue, The Novel Tree is a very high class establishment. When I arrived I was surprised that the door man was queuing clients up for when a Budtender became available. This reminded me a lot of visiting an Apple store but with a much shorter wait.

    Once my Budtender became available, I had her undivided attention until I decided I wanted to peruse the menu in peace. Once I had more questions or needed advice, I once again had the same young lady’s undivided attention – this was wonderful.

    There was no pressure from the Budtenders, and they were fairly unbiased in their recommendations. I’m somewhat of a novice with this stuff, but they were still able to help me with every question even if my lingo was wrong.

    Prices are a bit higher than other stores in the general area, but I’d expect no less in Bellevue. Their prices seem to run about $5-15 dollars per strain higher than competitors who carry the exact same product. That said, I was happy to pay the premium price for the level of service that I received.

    The store itself reminds me somewhat of an art gallery, and as such seems somewhat crowded even when it’s not

    In all, I would recommend this store to anyone looking for top shelf product in the Bellevue / Redmond area.

47. I have been coming to the Novel Tree exclusively since early November 2014. I am continually knocked over by the quality, both of the products and the service. I have never had a question unanswered. And when I have a question the particular bud tender is unsure of, it will lead to a friendly discussion until the answer is confidently arrived at. I have been steared away from options that may not fill my unique requirements. There is nothing not to recommend. The Novel Tree is exactly what a retail marijuana shop should be. I also look forward to the frequent Meet The Farmer events. Always an informative and satisfying experience. Can’t recommend enough.

I’ve been going here for months now, and between their new online ordering, daily deals (Tuesdays are a GREAT way to find favorite farms), and fantastic customer-oriented staff, I really see no reason to go anywhere else. All of that, and the reward system is just the cherry on top to an already great little store. AND as a bonus, if you’re a BECU member, there’s a branch location just down the street to save on pesky atm fees.

49. The guys in the shop were very nice and super helpful. The atmosphere of the shop is very chill, with lots of unique glassware on display. The staff was very knowledgeable about their products and explained what I could expect from certain strains in depth. These guys are obviously passionate about what they do and it made for a pleasant experience all around. The pricing may not be the lowest in the area, but the location and customer service makes that a non-issue for me. I would definitely recommend checking them out, and I know I will be going back there a lot.

They have answers to every question I ask and are very welcoming. My only complaint is I do prefer stores that have more room to walk and browse. I’m very visual and as the iPad menu is great, I prefer to see the product laid out. Glass and some products are a bit more expense and I feel the prices have gone up on flowers recently compared to other, new shops in the area. I would recommend this store to anyone from experienced to novice.

58. Soooo, in my opinion they do the best with this app, updating daily, and accurately. The transparency of what’s available from what I’ve seen, is a plus. The prices listed, are the price when you checkout, although taxes are not included on prices listed. Its my preference to have the out the door price listed. Personally I’m a fan of the deals, good deals daily! Anytime you can get good smoke at a rec store for 9-12$ a gram, someone is being nice. One bad thing, they don’t accept cards!
    People are awesome, place is always full of smiles and eye contact, good talkers and open to questions! Definitely a classier joint 😉

59. We chose The Novel Tree for our first Recreational visit. We were extremely happy. Store is very open and inviting and easy to get too. We were greeted at the door and ID’s checked. Selection is quite large and the staff was very knowledgeable. Prices are very competitive. All in all, this will be our “go-to” store until someone close beats it.

64. I’m a noob and went to TNT not knowing what to expect. I walked in and started explaining I was a noob, what I was looking for, what I’d tried, what I didn’t like about things I’d tried etc. The guy told me he was sure ‘they could help, but he was the guy that checked ID 🙂 After checking my ID, he directed me to the counter where I was helped by another patient, friendly guy. I went thru my spiel again and he asked me more questions to narrow in on what I was looking for. He recommended a couple of strains, but then kind of pulled them back and recommended a lighter strain based on my noob-ness. I really appreciated that, since I didn’t want to get knocked on my ass, I wanted to ease my way in. Well, I’ll say that the strain he recommended was great for me. He even answered my stupid questions about how to partake properly with the gear I was going to use. Overall a great experience!

    If you’re nervous, go here and the budtender will be helpful and not gate-keeper. There’s always great glassware to check out and I love their coasters and lighters.

They were able to give me reviews of products I was interested in, and they seemed to really enjoy simply talking about different kinds of cannabis. They have printed menus at several different tables in the shop, but the folks at the counter are more fun to talk to. They have a large selection (not sure how it compares to other shops) and the prices were as I expected them to be. I’m super excited to try the small batch cannabis elixirs I bought. Next time, I’m going to get some of those zoot drops. Definitely going back to this shop because the staff was so awesome!

77. If you live in WA and want to expirience the way recretional cannabis should be, then swing by the novel tree and grab some goodies. The atmosphere is laid back and so northwest. They have some awesome glasswork to look at while you wait for your budtender. I have been here three times and all 3 budtenders were welcoming, attentive, and knowledgable. They never rush you (theres alot to look at!) and will always answer your questions. Try some of raven grass farms flowers for a top-shelf expierience.     Spoke at length with two of the budtenders on staff, both very knowledgable. I was very happy that they seem to focus on where and how the bud was grown rather than straight THC content. Some of us out there actually do care about that stuff! I will usually choose organic over synthetic ferts any day so the Antoine Creek was an easy choice for me.
    Also, can I just say… GLASS. They have some amazing pieces there!

99. If you enjoy the Devil’s Cabbage, this is the retail shop for you. A wide variety at extremely reasonable prices (check this out for yourself online). They also have Happy Hour prices and various specials. I was in there yesterday to pick up an eighth of White Fire Alien, a most excellent hybrid leaning towards indica from Raven Grass (you guys rock) with 24.4% THCA and 0.11% CBD, and they had a special where I added a gram of Dutch Treat (also from Raven Grass) for $5! All told, averaged around $12.50/g for legal premium weed. The shop is very nice and brightly lit, with a selection of high-quality accessories. The greeter and budtenders are very knowledgeable and, I have to say, charming. Pardon the clichA(c), but totally awesome!! Worth driving to even if you don’t live on the eastside…

101. Second time into the store today – laid out well, lighting is easy to see quality, super helpful staff.

     Good choices on inventory and pricing – still about a 30-70% uplift on quality black market goods, but for me, the selection is worth the uptick in price to get exactly what you want (and to support the legal recreational market growth and stability). Their wax, shatter and honeycomb selection is improving, edibles are improving, but bud selection is top rate. They have specials that are pretty good – got 4g of Northern Lights x Haze for $35 as a superbowl special. It went into a super bowl and was passed without interception.

     Will be back many times.

106. The Novel Tree is by far the best recreational weed store in the Seattle area. I have been to Cannabis City, Ganja Goddess, Uncle Ike’s and a few others. 110. Unlike Green Theory or BelMar, The Novel Tree handled the new tax law perfectly! All their displayed and advertised prices included the excise tax in the price. Don’t be fooled by the other Bellevue shops “lower” prices, they almost certainly do not include excise tax, which is actually required by law (who knows how they are getting away with it). Can’t say I am surprised since The Novel Tree is often one step ahead of their competition in pricing. And because their pricing is always a step ahead, I wished they would carry more of the higher end farms because they would surely set the bar on the pricing. Anyway, daily happy hour and great sales means there is always a reason to check in. Though I do wish the product was displayed a bit better and there were some smell jars. Overall, I’d say this is my go to spot in Bellevue.

I watch the Leafly menu list for a lot of stores and I like the Novel Tree the most. They got what I’m looking for most in concentrates. 123. I am stoked that I can purchase cannabis legally, and am extremely grateful to be able to do so at the Novel Tree. I feel totally welcome there and don’t want to leave once I’m in the door. I’ve been meeting with very helpful bud tenders at the main counter and have even met one of the owners – all of them are great people!..

     So far I’ve purchased an eight of Afghan #1, two grams of White Widow, and gram quantities of: Afgooey, Hawaiian Dream, Lemon Skunk, Dutch Haze, Blueberry Trainwreck, , Blue Dream, Durban Poison and Super Lemon Haze. The Afghan #1 is my favorite, followed closely by the White Widow; both of them are very stoney!!! Their Strawberry Cough is next on my list when I go back later this week.

     These guys love to talk pot, and I get excited to be in the presence of like minded people. The store is in a perfect location, and it’s only a few miles from my home. The prices are fair … I can’t wait to go back.

127. I’ve been to several of the rec stores now, and this has become my regular one on the eastside. The prices are actually a bit lower and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and they always have good deals available if you’re not in a position to spend big cash that day. Everything I’ve tried is high quality. I also appreciate that they post their menu, with prices and quantities so I can figure out what I want to get before I’m standing there in person being overwhelmed by the wide selection. Another nice thing, they were the first store I’d been to that has samples available in little jars for you to see and smell. Since you can’t taste test, being able to get an idea of the flavor that way is a really nice bonus.

I said to them that it felt like I was in a completely different place than the other side. There wasn’t even the regular cannabis smell that most of these places have. It was very very clean. They led me over to a consultation area and we chatted about what would help me the most. They said they are real sticklers about pesticides etc. While the prices were fair they definitely earned what they are priced at. I wish I knew that this place didn’t require a medical card. And let me tell you they have everything medicinal in the truest sense of the word. I will be a regular here. It’s that good.

Drove over on my lunch break, set up looks awesome, very stylish and modern interior. In and out and very satisfied in just a few minutes.

     Tried the Shiatsu Kush: Takes a little while to kick in, but a mellow and relaxed high, and certainly enough head buzz to make the world interesting. The relaxation brings a subtle weightless feeling to the torso and lower body — a bit of floaty fun when walking. Overall, uplifting to body and mind. Good mood enhancer with undertones of “I think I’d like to hug somebody.” Very mild taste for vaping. It was, however, on the dry side… this can be attributed to growing conditions and overdone drying prior to packaging. For greenhouse-grown, there is no excuse, but don’t be put off by it here. What’s missing is that added bit of moisture that makes smoke mellower during combustion. A Boveda packet is included if you want to use it. It’s designed to emit moisture, so you store it with the herb to re-moisturize. But when VAPING herb this soft-tasting, it’s not necessary. Also, the main weight loss for newly-grown flower (that ends up dry) is moisture as opposed to cannabinoids. That means you’re getting more of the active ingredients (compared to non-dry herb) because it’s sold by weight. Anyway, thumbs up on Shiatsu Kush, and the Novel Tree in Bellevue.

219. One of the better recreational stores I’ve been to. I love the atmosphere and everyone I interacted with was extremely nice. The bud tenders patiently answered my endless barrage of questions about vape cartridges and concentrates, and politely ignored my obvious nervousness (I get anxious in rec shops for some reason… maybe just PTSD from the days of prohibition). They also have an interesting selection of strains that you won’t necesssarily find at other stores.

     It’s a bit of a drive for me, but I will definitely go back on occasion to stock up on some of the more uncommon items on their menu.

223. The atmosphere was really nice and cozy, and the guy at the entrance was really friendly. My budtender was not really knowledgeable of the different strains, sadly. I bought half a gram of Canna-tsu wax and am very disappointed with it, and kind of mad to be honest. The wax was processed over 10 months ago and was really bad quality. It had a ton of impurities and sizzled in my dab pen and destroyed the battery and two atomizers… Not sure if I want to go back after that, but I wish I could since they seem to have a great selection and decent prices.

I was lucky enough to attend the the Holiday party Novel Tree threw for its employees and +1’s (aka me) Having been a customer for only a few months it was refreshing to see that the approach Chris & Allie take with their store is genuinely reflected in the way they care for their employees. The event was full of awesome encounters, great music, tasty food and even a little glass blowing. When you read the “about us” section of the website you can rest assured, they are not joking. These folks truly care about finding you exactly what you need to feel good. Not to mention, they are almost encyclopedic in their product knowledge. I’m also told they have at least one gold medal blunt roller on staff. All in all, you will not likely find a more genuine, insightful, and caring group of people in this industry. You can visit any number of dispensaries in this area, but if you want honest, accurate recommendations and quality product you start here. I was not paid for this endorsement 😉

237. I was greeted at the door in such friendly genuine manner, it didn’t seem like I was visiting a store but more like visiting a friend.
     Everything is arranged in a way that it is easy to see, not cluttered as well as clean.
     The budtender that was assisting me was attentive and helpful. The strain I was looking for was not in stock, but she quickly came back with two very similar options for me. I also noticed that the other bartenders were being asked a lot of questions by some of the clients and none of them seemed flustered or rushed, everybody was getting exactly the amount of time they needed to make their purchases.
     I will definitely be back!

     And this is the best. Super friendly, and i never feel like I’m not engaged in making a good decision with my purchases.
     The menus very consistent and I’ve yet to be told the strain i picked was out of stock.
     This is after multiple visits,and at different times of the day as well.
     And best of all, is a large variety of cannibis in different price ranges.
     I even bought some cheap shake and made powerful cookies.

248. Visited “The Novel Tree” for the first time this evening and was impressed with the place. Great vibe and appearance, and a very friendly staff. Pretty good list of strains at really good prices…some absolutely stunning glassware, too. As far as I’m concerned, I’ve found my eastside retail store. I’ve been to the other place in downtown Bellevue, but it’s not as good as “the Novel Tree”. Period.

252. Definitely the nicest recreational store in the Seattle area. The atmosphere is inviting, well lit, and clean, and the employees are professional, well groomed, and knowledgeable. The selection was fantastic and the weed quality appears to be as good as it gets in a Washington rec store. If you have a friend or spouse that retains a stereotypical impression of the cannabis scene, bring him or her along the next time you visit the Novel Tree; it feels like a Starbucks for weed.

255. I found the Novel Tree by price shopping some strains on Leafly; for a recreational store they were considerably less than any of the competition.

     The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. A grower was there the day I visited and they had a fantastic special–I ended up with a gram each of four strains for $60, including tax. Even without the specials the prices were great. I’ve already told a couple of friends, and I’ll be back!

     The service is amazing, its like buying weed from your friends.

     The store is nice, clean and never too busy.

     The biggest win’s though, are the price’s, stock and the fact that you can smell samples.

269. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed without being unkempt, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the prices are comparable or lower than the other retail stores I’ve been to. It’s a bit more of a drive for me than the other stores, but the difference is big enough to keep me coming back, despite the distance.

284. Since openning day Novel Tree has improved there prices and brought in some fine strains. Met the Raven Grass growers yesterday and was impressed with the quality of their bud. Have tried Montana Silver Fir, Blueberry Trainwreck and Dutch Treat. Definitely the place to go for reasonablly priced cannabis from smaller farms in Washington.

287. I have been in this store dozens of times as it is close to where I live. Every single time I visit I get wonderful customer service from the person at the door to the bud tenders.
     Sometimes it feels like a lot of these recreational stores have sort of a stuck up vibe and aren’t making customers a priority. I miss the the medical stores where you would develop great relationships with the staff. The Novel Tree is the closest I have found to the feel of the medical stores.
     The Novel Tree has employees who take pride in putting their customers first. They all are very knowledgeable. You can tell the employees love working there!
     I highly recommend visiting them!

289. I’ve been up in the Eastside area for a little while and just found out these guys opened a few months ago around the corner. They’ve been wonderful so far.

     The price, quality, and selection is great. They manage to make it all work when its still so new and hard. Top shelf strains at reasonable prices that are regularly availaible.

291. Can’t say enough positive things. The entire staff (for what I assume are obvious reasons) are incredibly passionate about their job. So much in fact they will guide you to exactly what you are looking for – even if you have no idea what anything is called.

296. Some products are advertised as grams but you have to buy 4. In store I was given hugely inaccurate information straight from the owner regarding the quality of a Chocolope strain they carry of one grower VS another. I gambled and bought the 4 gram pack and lost.
