Although I had to wait a bit, when it was my turn Loren took the time to recommend and explain. I’m new to this and often confused.
If you are new to Medical Marijuana, this should be your first and only stop. Clean! I was impressed that all handling of medication is by GLOVED hands only.
Only gripe is no handicapped access, although I was informed that access is being worked.
NOTE: Their meds are MUCH stronger than others I have (limited) tried, so start slowly and work your way up.
only good deals coming out of here are the pre rolls, grams at 5 bucks. theyre lowest one on the shelf is like 10 rocking 26% (ex) but to each his own.

What can I say – 2nd Step is THE PLACE to go! Since I started there, the staff is a bunch of great people, the location is very handy and also very well taken care of in and out. The stock is well kept up with a great variety of goods on the menu. I tried a Lunch Box Alchemy Squib Gummy ‘Orange’ today and I’ll give it the Thumbs UP – good flavor and nice, mellow effect. The CO2’s I use do great for my Epilepsy and Fractured Spine. Unless your out of town, this is THE PLACE to go for your cannabis needs!!!

I travel from Silverton which means I get a 10% discount for being from out of town.. I enjoy the quick service, everyone is eager to help, answer questions, and get you what you need for whatever you may need it for.. No discount on grab bags but HELLA worth it, I always seem to get over 70%thc..

I have found that they are the cheapest around when it comes to taffy with a high CBD.
I have gone here quite a few times since they have opened. Plus I was a previous 1st Step Clinic Patient. Since they have been at their new location never once have I gone their during their normal business hours and have not been greeted with a warm friendly smile. I feel comfortable and like family when going in to the facility. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. He takes the time to educate me on medicine and what to look for. He helps me select what I need for my medical conditions. I definitely recommend this place to everyone who wants to go to a nice establishment with very knowledgeable and helpful people. You will not regret going in here at all, I never have. Hands down this is the premier facility around.
What’s disappointing is my friend actually said you weren’t up too snuff?! Lies!! It took me a little while too visit but I was literally blow away with my trip here! Amazing selection and great employees and enviornment, this place is amazing and is my new first stop shop after just 1 visit. These guys aten’t playing around!! Too legit!
This is usually a “go to” shop for me; great selection of flower, concentrates, and hands down best pre-rolls in town; staff is great as well.
However menu hasn’t been updated here in awhile and I know they have a great selection. With as many stores as there is in Salem now it’s nice to be able to see what’s available and if it’s worth the trip in.

I am so happy that I found this professional and compassionate dispensary. I attended their OMMP registration clinc with Dr. D and now I have continued on as loyal customer. Loren spent and spends hours on educating both patients and caregivers on the benefits and effects of medical marijuana. I had no idea that marijuana could be used to treat illnesses without the patients getting high. I learned about the Indica to Sativa continuum and how to medicate safely but effectively throughout my day. I read here where a reviewer thought the staff was “STONED” and had to laugh because of his lack of respect for other patients’ rights. Thank you 2nd Step!

The knowledge in this shop is really 2nd to none. I asked for a specific type of product and their recommendation was not only spot on but I’ll likely drive the hour up there again soon even though there is 2 dispensaries walking distance to my home and I work as a budtender in another a couple of miles away. I’m looking forward to visiting, hopefully this week!
I’ve been visiting every dispensary in Salem and this is hands down the best. Amazing quality, and great prices. Their prerolls are cheaper than anywhere else and come with a nice wooden filter, they also have a really nice selection. Too bad I didn’t come here first or I probably would have never gone anywhere else!

I was really intimidated to go into a dispensary for the first time. But, the staff at 2nd Step were very kind, helpful and compassionate. I drove past several other dispensaries and did not pull in because these looked scary to say the least. 2nd Step has flowers and beautiful landscapes. The entry has a ramp which made it easy to enter with my limited mobility. Thank you again. I can’t wait to get my massage!

this is my favorite spot. they have an excellent selection of high quality medicine. i have tried more than half of the top shelf flowers i have loved them all. grand hustle, huckle berry kush, and girl scout cookies are some mighty fine ones to name few. i havnt tried everywhere but i cant stop goin back to this one cuz its a sure thing. i drive past a couple other dispensaries on the way the to this one because i prefer this one over the others. its worth the drive. like i said i havnt gone into everyplace in town so i hope im not missing out on anything cuz i just keep goin back to this place cuz its great.

All in all, THC Rec Station is becoming my favorite location in Salem. I’m not sure if it is the coziness the house offers or simply the warm greetings, but going here is always an enjoyable experience. They have great pricing and a knowledgeable staff who are a perfect combination of professional and friendly. They also offer easy parking on a quiet street, which personally is a huge plus. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Really liked this one. Good scene..Really like the fact that the rec and med are separate. Really felt like the budtender was cool no matter what I bought. Whether I bought top shelf or bargain. He was happy to tell me about either. Seemed genuinely proud of the store and the inventory. He knew about the products. All the things a medical cardholder appreciates when they go to get their meds. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars for quality was when I looked at the testing date it was kinda old. It was good, and tasty. But imagine what It could have been had it been a little fresher… But all things considered I will certainly return to this store.

I know staff from in other area but they are good be coach and teacher more detail even allow me take my time to search. The standard.
This dispensary is the one by which we measure other dispensaries we visit and not one measures up to this one. The friendly and welcoming staff, the owner bending over backwards to help us when he didn’t have to, and the fantastic quality of medication available ensure that we will return time and time again. Things happen and you may have to go to a different dispensary from time to time but this should be your main choice. We simply have never been to a dispensary as good as this one.

My first time visit as an OMMP patient (although have been here before as a recreational user). The OMMP dispensary is amazing. I was provided a thorough tour and all my questions were answered about different types of products. 2nd Step had a wide selection of edibles, lotions, tinctures, etc. My visit was enjoyable and informative. This will absolutely be my primary location.

Great meds and all kinds of choices. I found not only my favorite strains of flowers but also edibles and concentrates. The 2nd Step Dispensary staff is awesome; knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. There are staff who have growing experience and they shared that with me and even helped me pick out my first potted plants! The facilities are clean, well lit, safe and comfortable feeling.

2nd step is a great place to get your cannabis, edibles, and oils. They’ve got a very nice relaxed atmosphere, the staff there are friendly and educated. There prices are fair and competitive and there flower, along with the rest of there products are top notch. I’ve been going here for over 2 years. I feel as though the quality and variety has gone down hill for the medical . The flower seems to be drier and have more stems. I hope they put back in the care the use to, to the medical side.

I am a newbie to MMJ but 1st Step Clinic and 2nd Step Dispensary made my decision to improve my health easier. My initial clinic appointment with Dr. Dossey was handled with professionalism and kindness. The staff and Mr. Kruesi went out of their way to help me and took the time to answer my questions even though they were clearly very busy. My visits to the dispensary were the same – smiling, soft spoken, knowledgeable staff who took their time answering my questions. Both clinic and dispensary are well organized and clean.
I was diagnosed with a painful chronic illness six months ago and am still trying to wrap my head around that and accept it so I was anxious when I first entered the clinic and dispensary but met with only considerate, nonjudgemental people.
After much research, my decision to change from pharmaceuticals to MMJ was an easy one but Nature Quest has made the transition smoother for me.

Great place to buy medication especially if your a veteran, you get a 10% off. All employees are very knowledgeable about the medication they provide. And when I mean knowledgeable, in taking about brain overload. All the staff if very friendly. They don’t bullshit you about the actual potency of medication just to get your money. Their desire is to help you find the best medication possible in the budget you got. The only suggestion I got is RECEIPTS!! Would be helpful if they wrote them out so I can claim the medication on my taxes.

Super helpful from start to finish. I come from a very conservative state and when i moved to Oregon i finally saw my chance to take advantage of prescription drugs which never really helped and had awful side effects. The folks at first step assisted me through ever step of getting my medical card. The owner actually took time out of his busy day to guide me through and answer all of my questions.
Similarly the guys and gals in Second Step put me at ease, suggested several strains that would work for me. They were patient and compassionate. They took the time to ask me question about my condition and answered my question with a great deal of knowledge in the product they supply.
I will continue to support them as my home dispensary!

Loren and the crew at THC Recreation Station formerly 2nd Step Dispensary have always been good to my wife and I. She’s been able to taper off two different prescription drugs with the guidance of the staff there. Her quality of life has improved immensely because of the medicine she’s used from there. We’ve never had a poor experience over the last few years, they have quality staff and draw a friendly clientele. Sure I’ll shop around and find a strain at other shops, but I always come back home. Shops like this improve the quality of life for the surrounding community. I surely do appreciate where we live and the improving options we have regarding access to psychedelics. More and more Oregonians are coming to understand the better health outcomes they get with cannabis over a vast number of prescription poisons. To think we can achieve such improvements in our health by swapping out the devastating declining toxic effects of a Xanax or Ambien with 5-10mg of a totally harmless plant extract, and regain your humanity back in the process. I appreciate the guidance I’ve always received from the good people at THC Recreation Station formerly 2nd Step Dispensary.

I really like this dispensary. The Purple Haze grown by the owner is $50/qtr and is one of my favorite Sativas. They have a large selection and everyone there is friendly.

From blue hair to beards, this place is my favorite spot so far! The staff is exceptional in their human to cannabis relations. Frank kept up with my bad jokes while recommending delish products. I am never not coming here. I’m lucky I was in proximity to have Leafly refer me there or I’d never have thought to stop.

Use to be my favorite dispensary as a medical patient. I don’t know what happened.. Some where along the line they started to give less of a damn about medical and cater more towards recreational. Medical patients seem to cramp their style they don’t wanna be bothered with us anymore. Look. I’m not putting these guys down the dispensary isn’t bad the service is a little shady now-a-days the product ain’t bad but the atmosphere is harsh towards medical patients. The budtenders need a lesson in customer service. I understand the industry is ever changing the rules and regulations are always out of wack but when you come to work check that crap at the door and do work! Your a budtender you have a job some people would love to have, act like it. Now regarding medical patients I don’t know when you guys got high and mighty (no pun intended) but damn figure it out. I’ll never come back to your dispensary anyway so these comments from me don’t matter any way which sucks cause I use to love you guys. Ole well.

I have been to every despensery in salem and this is one of the best. really cool staff, they have fun with What they do and still remain professional while doing it.
I can only review their clones, which generally look unhealthy, and were visibly infested with tiny flies at the dispensary. Quarantine and treatment with pesticide was unsuccessful, and the clones I bought ended up bagged and trashed. I knew I was making a mistake when I had a look at their inventory, and I can only blame myself.

This first-class dispensary recently added a very nice, aluminum ramp to the front door. The ramp is easy to navigate and push up. The meds are top rate, but the best part is the knowledgeable and friendly, professional staff.

2nd Step Dispensary was great. I am a new medical card holder and I went in yesterday for my first time. Everyone was nice and they gave me a quick tour before I started looking around, I appreciate that. They have a great selection of literally everything. Loren, the owner, was there and he is always nice to see and he also let me know about specials, discounts and raffles. I am proud to call this MY local dispensary. : )

severe anxiety disorders and debilitating severe chronic pain that does not make it easy to be in public. so with me going to 2nd step for my meds’ which i can say the med’s allows me to at least have some quality of a life, both mentally and physically. kinda feels like a triage before the E.R..
I recomend 1st step to see the doctor for your O.M.M.P card
and 2nd step to get your, hourly ,daily monthly, med’s.

Been going here since they opened in October of 2015, and 2nd Step has, in my opinion, consistently been the highest quality dispensary in Salem. Everyone (and every thing, too) there is clean, professional, welcoming, and fun. Best pre-rolls in town as well. If you’re disappointed with this place, you’re doing something wrong.

First of all this place has amazing service. And it seems like they are always expanding. With that said I just wish a little more work was put into the presentation of the shop. Having a disability that is back related it would be nice to browse without having to crouch for what i want. The quality of their meds do make up for this and is the reason I go back.
The staff was very freindly and made every effort to answer questions. I appreciate not hearing “I don’t know” unless it’s followed by “let me find out”.

Let me say how wrong I was. This building looks so professional on the outside and I walked in and it seemed shady at first. The lady at the front was kind and checked in my id and showed me to the back. Awkward at first, slightly uncomfortable. Let them take care of you. Very helpful and kind people. I have found myself returning here. I can see why its Salem premiere Cannabis dispensaries. This was really my second visit, but I clicked first time as the review is more relevant to that.
